Let’s remember, the Vienna declaration on the human right to nutritional care was signed one year ago. “Vienna Declaration” was endorsed by the four major international Clinical Nutrition Societies – ASPEN, ESPEN, FELANPE and PENSA in conjunction with representatives of patients’ associations (EPF), dietitians (EFAD), and a global network of more than 70 national Societies.
There are only a few days left until the 45th ESPEN Congress in Lyon begins. Do not miss to meet the experts in clinical nutrition and discuss cutting-edge science.

The 28th ESPEN Course in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism will be held in Tallinn, Estonia from November 5-10, 2023. ESPEN Course will provide a practical and broad insight in the field of nutrition care and help and enhance the skills of participants with provoking interdisciplinary case-discussions. Physicians- and other medical professionals from various specialties working in the field of clinical nutrition (nutritionists, dietitians, pharmacists) can apply to participate in the course, ESPEN members have priority. Please note that until October the 1st only 2 members from each block member society of ESPEN are accepted to the ESPEN course. The applicants must confirm their ESPEN membership and provide their support letter from local society upon registration. Registration of up to 50 participants will be accepted in these terms based on first come first served rule until October the 1st, more information here.
New ESPEN fact-sheet on the Life-Long Learning (LLL) program in Clinical Nutrition and ESPEN Diploma in clinical nutrition is now available, as well on nutritional screening! more information here.
The European association on Dysphagia and other swallowing disorders (ESSD) is supporting a project named TEAMS which will define the most relevant educational needs regarding the relationship between dysphagia and malnutrition among healthcare professionals across Europe using a web-based survey. The survey has been developed using SurveyMonkey online platform, in 7 languages, and it may be found here (ESSD website and on LinkedIn). We invite you to share your valuable insights on nutritional care in patients with dysphagia and make a real impact on patient care! Your participation is crucial in helping the ESSD identify education needs among healthcare professionals and develop a customized education program.
UEG Week in Copenhagen feels to be around the corner and we are very pleased to announce this event which will be held from October 14-17, 2023. UEG Week is the annual event where the whole GI community comes together, meets & networks and picks up on the latest science and education.
