ESPGHAN What’s New – December 2020

Dear ESPGHAN Members,
Dear Friends,

It is time to pass on our best wishes and gratitude for the past year and for the New Year ahead. However, this year our sentiments are even more heartfelt. We have all endured a very difficult period over these past months, and for the first time in the history of ESPGHAN there was no Annual Meeting. Yet, it is incredible to see that, despite the present situation and restrictions, we have all stayed positive and productive, and have faced the challenges head-on and resolutely.

Within ESPGHAN, we have managed to launch our new website, create two new standing Committees (Research and Education) and have added to our awards and grants allocation with the new endoscopy fellowships and AHP Award. We have also initiated our Quality of Care project and our Committees have remained active and engaged throughout the year, as always.

We offer our sincere thanks, and wish you all a very merry Christmas, and happy festivities and religious holidays across all other denominations and faiths and to enjoy with your family a peaceful and relaxing period over the next few weeks. Let us proceed into the New Year with renewed hope for a prosperous, healthy and peaceful 2021, and determination to leave behind a most difficult year.

Important Information for Members
In Memoriam –  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our esteemed colleagues and Members, Prof. Hans Hoekstra. He will be sadly missed and a touching obituary can be found by clicking here.

ESPGHAN Constitution 2021 – In accordance with the voting carried out during our 2020 AGM regarding governing roles and their reservation for European based Members, an overview of the proposed changes can now be found in the MyESPGHAN area of the website. We encourage all Members to log-in and review the proposed changes. Once logged in, the document and overview can be found by clicking on the tab „constitutional updates 2021“.
